Vizard House is an inner suburban “home away from home”, providing temporary subsidised residential accommodation for family and friends visiting patients at city or inner suburban Melbourne hospitals, at a time of financial need and emotional stress.
Recognising a public need, the Vizard Foundation purchased Vizard House in 1992 and donated use of the facility to provide temporary subsidised residential accommodation for more than four thousand people each year.
Since it was established, Vizard House has provided more than 125,000 room nights to people who need to be close to their loved ones whilst they are receiving treatment.
Vizard Foundation House is a pair of historic homes built in 1906 that overlook the beautiful Fitzroy Gardens. In 2015 a significant renovation and refurbishment of Vizard House was completed to ensure a high quality of accommodation in all 15 of the guest bedrooms.
The day to day management of Vizard House is the responsibility of the Vizard Foundation.
